I believe that SEO SHOULD be learned, but it's not required. You can succeed without SEO by learning PPC, but for the most part SEO is a huge part of the internet marketing and should be learned in my opinion.

The Introduction to learn SEO is to study its fundamentals to have an information background then try to implement this method in your own way to improve your learning in optimizing a site. Experience is the best teacher.

Learning basic SEO is good enough to start your career on it. But what will make you learn more is through experience. Experience will give you ideas and will let you experiment on things that might benefit you from doing SEO in the future. Even though you know a lot about SEO, if you cannot apply it on real life marketing, then it is just a waste of time.
