Link directories still works?

Seo changes alot. Would like to ask the experts if you still go link directories submission now? still effective? or just focus on blog commenting.

Link directories are do-follow, they're considered old metrics link building, however links from them still counted and useful. Besides, submitting from link directories are super easy, you only provide 30 minutes of your time daily from directories.

I think that Google no longer follow the links from directories, notably if they are free. But if you pay a certain price you can promote your link in directory...
Yahoo and DMOZ is still relevant...

Link directory submission is still effective because its a do follow link.
