Hi,
Meta keywords may be ignored by most SE's but meta descriptions certainly are not.
Although it is not a golden rule, but in many instances the meta description of a page is used as the snippet of text in the Google Search Result Page. This makes it an opportunity of a call to action to your customer. Make it the sort of text people want to click on. I like to call it your free google advertising in a way.
So, yes, every page should have its own unique meta description - tell your customer what can be expected on that page and make them click!!
Meta tags are what search engines are looking for so it can include your site in the top results. Putting up meta tags in your HTML code is an advanced website traffic tactic that must not be missed! Low cost you ask? Oh yeah!
