All the methods you mentioned are actually good. It's just a matter of doing them properly. Avoid link spamming.

To my mind, it's impossible to choose one. Doing only one will never bring you any success in SEO.

forum posting for me, aside from your building links for your website, you're also promoting and also you can gain more knowledge on optimization of websites through the moderators and the threads...

All we can do like Press Release, Bookmarking, SMO, Blog , Article submissions, DS. You can also do voting on others posts.

Hi,
You could start it by learning the basic SEO task.
Like the off page optimization.
The social bookmarking submission, directories, articles, blog commenting and so on.
This would be the start of your SEO.
