I've heard that lots of flash in a web design can actually hurt the site's search engine optimization. Is that true?

SEO don't compete with flash, in fact Google already announced they can indexed flash contents now, but sure not as effective as text content. So site build with flash should at least have place for text contents.

Designers are willing to do it for them. When the time comes to do online advertising, the Search Engine Consultant tells them that search engines cannot read flash files.

SEO must go hand in hand when designing the site. This saves time, money and frustration for both the designers and the website owners.
