Hi, I'm very new to web building and SEO. I've been trying to get backlink form various websites but nobody is replying to my backlink request. Is there a proper way to request for backlink?

Who would want to backlink exchange with a new website? It doesn't make sense to me. Same as going on an interview after college and the interviewer asks you "do you have experience?"
