Are you referring to your pages of your site? or main page only?
Each pages of your site contains different title, content, keywords.

1. Research for the best keywords
2. put them in the best position (all pages have different keywords and avoid stuffing them)
3. make a good description
4. a better and challenging title that suits the pages of your site including your main page

You can add keywords in meta tags section such as in title, description and keywords. You also have to include them in your page contents.

I agree. You can put your keywords to your meta tags and title tags. You should be choose the best keyword for your site so you can focus on optimizing your main keyword.

If you are talking about the content itself and not on the on-page optimization, you should be able to put your keyword in the beginning, middle and the end of your content for better keywords positioning.

On the on-page matter, yes you can put your keyword in your title tag as well because SE bots crawl it too. But remember to focus more on putting your keywords in your main content as today, especially Google bots, consider mostly those keywords in your content.
