There is no limit on the number of keywords or keyword phrase acceptable by the search engine.
There are a few key areas to look at when choosing a target phrase:
1. Relevance – Is this phrase even relevant to your site and its content?
2. Search Frequency – Are people even searching for this phrase?
3. Competition – How competitive is this field? Is it even a feasible target?

Hi,
I think there will be a ceiling for keyword count else full content of any site will be full of keywords only.
Also i like to know how the keyword optimization helps much in page ranking and how the pages are get indexed.

you can rank in such keywords without targeting them... it really depends on your content.. if the keywords is visible in your content,,for sure you'll rank on it..
link building is the best way to back-up your targeted keywords..

There is no limit on the number of keywords but there should not be keyword stuffing and a keyword should not be repeated more than 3 times. Also, no one page should go beyond 3-4 primary keywords per page

There's no specific amount/limit for the keywords that you will use in your site. It will be based on how you will use the keywords in your page. It should come naturally in the content and avoid keyword stuffing..

Keywords has to be 8 to 10 for your home page and 5 to 7 for your sub page and no repetition of key words cuz google will take it in spamming.

hi all,
i think there is no hard and fast rule in SEO but many good seo's recommend that use 60 to 80 correctors in website title tag and 80 to 90 correctors in description tag and 500 correctors or 25 keywords in website keywords tag.
but remember don't try to repeat keywords in same tag.
