Is it good to promote in social networks? For example, Friendster and Multiply.. Does anyone tried to do their promotions in these social networks?

I think promotion on social networking site depending on the kind of your site that you'll going to promote. If your site offers services and products I suggest not to promote on social networking sites because traffic is not targeted.

My site most of traffic generates from social networking sites. For traffic i only prefer social networking sites.

Of course, it is very beneficial. You can get tons of "targeted traffic" from participating in social media or networking sites. Plus, it's free!

Yes social networks are strong source to generate traffic and thus you can create huge followers if you follow right strategy.

This is quite a confusing area that I'm not sure about getting into. It seems a very good source of (reasonably) targeted traffic but it's difficult these days to know Google will be pleased with you or not.

If you simply generate lots of traffic but have high bounce rates this appears to do your site more harm than good with search engine ranking.

Internet marketing in genaral seems to be a mine field just waiting to blow up in your face, no wonder I'm going grey.

Has social marketing really worked for anyone in a product based industry?
