Twitter and the others not passing link value?

I had searched and found nothing to indicate that the above had been discussed here.

Short urls are used extensively on Twitter and other sites providing similar services.

I'm of the view that such links do not pass link value and probably nofollow too.

Some of you are probably thinking that this thred is in the wrong section. I believe
it is in the right place because it is related to internet marketing since text links
will attract more focussed visitors for better sales conversions.

Your comments please. Thanks.

That seems to be an old issue to talked about. Twitter literally made no-follow eversince it was developed. But that doesn't mean it worthless. Google indeed make way in which your update will be visible on their page.
Almost everything you've ever said on Twitter is about to be discoverable through Google. Google announced plans Tuesday to roll out a timeline of archived Twitter messages organized by topic, allowing searchers to see when Twitter activity spiked with tweets related to their search query. When the user clicks on a particular day that contained an outsized number of tweets related to that topic, they'll be presented with a scrolling list of the individual tweets from that day. http://news.cnet.com/8301-30684_3-20002453-265.html

Well, it's not a surprise anymore. Just don't follow those accounts that you think are spammer. ;)

Twitter is to create buzz. Not for link building. An shorten link will not give any value to your URL. Get more followers and get more visitors
