While analyzing competing websites, I've noticed something strange in the results of Google's LINK: query and I'm wondering if anyone could comment.
As we all know the results of Google's LINK: query are not easily explained by the rules that Google alleges to apply regarding incoming links. The semi-agreed upon "wisdom" seems to be: non-recip incoming links with a high PR=best, non-recip incoming links with a lower PRs=good, the rest, Google counts them but they are "off the radar". Assuming this is accurate, why is it when I run the LINK: query on certain pages of websites, I see in the results several dozen "incoming" links that are on pages from the exact same domain of the page I'm running the query for?!?
To illstrate: run the query on sblades.com, in the results there are almost 20 links from pages within the same domain.
Are these links on pages within the same domain really considered incoming links?

I dont use third part tools to check individual search engines links. Go to google, and type this: link:www.yoursite.com
If you put a space, you end up searching for any page that has your URL written in it anywhere.
Google counts some links while not other (even in some cases with same PR) there is more to it than this. It depends on the relevance to your site, from the other site. It depends on the other sites links out (if theres a lot, or links to SPAM thats bad)

Also, if you type ::www.yoursite.com in the search bar, you will see many more links to your site from google.
