A question about sandbox

If your sites shows in search result for certain keywords, Does it means your site is not in sandbox? How to determine if it is or not...Thanks!

if your site is beginning to rank then you are prob out of the sandbox.

So, since my site get first page in fairly specific searches but low rank in more general seaches and doesn't have any links showing in googles link popularity, I'm in the sand box?
