Page speed has long been a Google ranking factor. But in June 2021, Google will be adding another set of speed-related ranking signals with the introduction of Core Web Vitals (CWVs) in this upcoming Core Algorithm Update. The new Core Web Vitals are a list of technical SEO metrics created to help business owners, marketers, and developers improve user page experience. The Core Web Vitals will also be Google ranking signals and that could affect your website's SEO to some degree.

On Monday, May 19th, 2021, Google announced that the Page Experience Core Algorithm Update — originally set to rollout in May 2021 — will now begin to rollout mid-June, 2021.
