HELP!! Search term Self destruct!!

Can any one help? I have been at between 6th & 8th possition on a search term (my best one) and sundenly I have droped to 14th which is the worst position since we first got up there!.
I havent really changed much apart from adding links and product daily.
I need help asap please.

This is not a new scenario. Anyway, what is the techniques that you've been using while optimizing your site? are you sure you don't link to penalized site? sometimes, linking to bad neighborhood can definitely hurt your SERP.. better check your backlinks though. If you see that they are all good links, then the problem now is the frequent update of algo or its in your competitors.. they are also striving to get a good positions..

Thanks for your reply, I have followed the SEO rules of thumb and been successful up untill now, Links, updates, fresh news and reviews.
but sill no cigar.
all my other serch terms are great.
how can i tell if im linked to a bad site??

The site is a few years old so that should not be an issue.

Thanks for the link, but it seems like that tool is surfing all the pages on every page I am linked to... I am linking to some big sites, so with my slow internet connection in Mexico, it will take forever!!

The dropped in rankings may be cause of two things. First, due to high competition for the targeted search term. Second, if the site is new, there is a huge chance that it gets a high SERP. But this boost in ranking is only temporary, sooner or later your ranking will drop or even remove.

Is your site an adult one? You should build your links more careful since adult sites are more likely to be flagged. Get strong backlinks now.

Try to get a quality link for your site make sure to get a high PR sites.

Right, am still droping for that one search term, but all the other have jumped up! I may have layed of the first one a bit to work on the others but It shouldnt have had that of an affect surley?
