Don't put all your eggs on one basket.

You can use those listed if you're banned with Adsense.

I'm using AdEngage ads on the same pages of AdSense ads without any problem and with good results...I've asked it in the adsense forums and they told me that this is permitted ONLY IF the other ads are not similar in appearance to AdSense ads

Why would you avoid bots? How would they give you relevant ads? The best way is to look at their terms and policy for there should no conflict when displaying ads... ex. is putting Yahoo ads on blogger/blogspot site for it is owned by Google.
