Not all the social boomarking sites are dofollow. So as long as they are nofollow, they will simply give you traffic and if they are dofollow then they will help you give some traffic and good backlink.

The answer can't be simply yes. Yes there are bookmarking sites who uses No-Follow tags to prevent people from spamming and abuse of links. However there are bookmarking services that DO NOT use No-Follow tags.

Focus on high PR bookmarking sites.

i don't think so because now a days every Social bookmarking site becoming nodofollow Or they are using bar , like digg is using now a days, so how can we get pr from nodofollow links ?

Dofollow ones like Digg and Propeller do help your PR but the pages that your link is on don't get much PR so it's hard to pass much on. Every little bit helps though.

Social networks do increase your page rank. They use a dolfollow command that GoogleBot obeys. So it increases your relevant traffic while increasing your page rank.

If the links provided by the book marking sites are normal dofollow html links then it can improve our Page Rank. Most of the book marking sites gives java script redirection or nofollow links

I think social bookmarking is more on traffic generation and has nothing to do with PR. Page rank could easily be achieve if you are doing a daily post on your blog and even without optimizing it still daily posting would be a great help.

I have to disagree to people who commented in this topic that PR is not important. Of course PR is important. You can monetize your blog if you got a high page rank. There's a lot of money waiting on you with high PR. Traffic would be useless if the visitors are not interested in your ads and a very little profit on ads.

No social bookmarking is not going to help you much or for longer time. You can get temporary help from it.

Well i am not sure, because mostly Social bookmarking sites Are using nodofollow attribute And some those are using dofollow attribute they are also using some kind of bars like digg doing, there are still some dofollow Social bookmarking sites but They have Some rules and regulations , so i think social bookmarking sites just can increase traffic of your site not pr. thats just my thinking not sure about others.
