It appears that now, more than ever, non commercial sites are being prioritized.

Does it mean, for commercial sites, any efforts to improve their SE optimization will not bring successful results? I guess it might be like that.
Very possible, Google can force the commercial sites to spent more money for their commercial improvements and advertising with Google. And the funny thing, nobody can resist it.

i think it depends on what the browsers are searching...

It doesn't matter what the browsers are searching.
If we say non commercial sites are being prioritized because they are more informative, then for the commersial site to be prioritized it has to be more informative too. Simple logic.

Another words, it sounds like commercial sites have to decrease the number of products or services advertized on the front page, leaving only a few of them but focusing on bigger informative description of those remaining products or services. Is it correct?
Any idea?

how about if the browser/user searching for specific product?

as long as search engine see how informative and closely matched to what browser searching, those particular site/page will appear first whether it is commercial or non-commercial site...

let's just stick and focus on what experts findings on how SE rank and optimize our site informative for users and friendly to crawlers...

Yes google is updating its algorithms from the last 10-15 days and lot of sites have changed there rankings. Till now its just a kind of fluctuations going on and this up date is giving more importance to informational sites.You will see wikipedia in almost all the keyword searches near top.

I have few simple questions.
1. What is the exact meaning of the word "informative" when it comes to the internet criteria.
2. How the informative website should look like?
3. What is the criteria for "informative"?
4. Would it be a short description for product or service enough to be considered as informative, or it has to be something like article written for such products or services?

5. And the last question, FOR EXAMPLE, is my site http://www.SupremeDeal.com can be considered as "informative"?

Any idea?

I think what the new update suggests is " STICK TO THE BASICS" i mean a lot of webmasters forget about the meta tags and the importance of CONTENT RICH SITES. Now see what is happening .Content rich ites are comming on top.

Perhaps I'm too cynical, but....

If they prioritise non-commercial sites, could this just be to force commercial sites to pay for CPC advertising?

I was always giving value to meta tags etc.. !! but still I can see that many people are are still still able to spam on search results..!
