Silli question about PR and SERP.

I know PR and SERP have different meanings. And I know SERP is what makes your site to be visited by potentioal customers (if the site is commertial). But PR is kind of abstract thing which simply shows your ranking.

Now the question, if SERP sounds more important than PR, then why we are talking so much about PR?

To my understanding, if your ranking is low then you cannot be listed well on SERP.

PR is like a measurement of your site especially important in google as this biggest and the most popular uses PR to return the results to queries based on keywords.

That's not true. Some sites with pretty low PR have better position in SERP than the sites with higher PR. And what is the definition of "low ranking", ( 0, 1, 2, 3 or anything else).

PR update is scheduled so we talk about it.. to get ready for next update knowing possible tips for us to rank...

PR rank green bar is only there for entertainment purposes.

I donot think so though it is not 100% but still the high ranking the better position in the result pages under the same keyword.

I think much important is to get a more quality link to improve your SERP
even you have a low page rank at Google.

PR is just for entertainment purposes

there are many things you have to do to get on top on the SERP...

proper on-page and off-page optimization is all that matters!

PR is just a mathematical formula, doesn´t take into consideration if the backlink is on-topic or off-topic, or if the backlink is coming from an authority site... However, the relevancy and authority of a backlinks is taken in account for rankings.

It is true SERP is the most important. But it doesn't mean that PR is useless.

Your question is right but we have to take care about our PR also.If your PR is 2 or 3 then there is a chance to get good SERP but if your site has PR 6 or 7 then the more cahnces to get high SERP.So we have to optimize web site for both SERP and PR.

That's not happen exactly the way you say. I saw many sites with lower PR which have better SERP than their compatitors with a bigger PR. So, there is no simple answer.
