A link to your site from a high pr site/web page

It doesn't matter whether you submitted your new site to Google or not, it will be in the sandbox for a while anyway. Links will definitelly help to get indexed faster.

it is good to have your links visible to high Traffic, updated/fresh sites.. SE loves to crawl updated pages.. when your links where visible on their page,, it is possible your site will be crawled, and get indexed...
