don't waste time waiting to be listed in DMOZ... there are many great directory sites out there that gives great links so why wait to be listed there?!

It's really hard to get listed in DMOZ....don't waste your time....try to look for other quality directory...

It may take some time (sometimes 6 months or more ...) before your website will show up in the Open Directory Project. However, do not resubmit your website during the waiting period as this can only result in a longer delay or get your website rejected. Be patient and regularly check the status of your submission by doing the search on DMOZ. If your website does not get listed for a long period of time or gets rejected, you can also check on the status of the submission or the reasons for the rejection by contacting the editors for the subcategory that you selected.

Some people say that DMOZ is full of editors that take their own interests into account when reviewing sites. That good sites don't get accepted because they would compete against the editors sites...I don't know if this is true, but I agree with X3 and Ben...there are other quality directories that are considered better.

I submitted to the Yahoo directory which Google considers very highly...however, it costs 300 bucks per year...

i also tried many times to get listed in dmoz but my site http://www.unisoft-technologies.com is still not listed in dmoz.

which one is better directory than dmoz except yahoo

i've read somewhere that dmoz is having a shortage of editors - one of the possible reason for the loooong processing of requests

It is not a good news to us but for me DMOZ is really strict. You need to followed their guidelines before you got listed and it takes time.

I submitted my site for many years to DMOZ, so far no results.
Guys, what are we talking about? Is there anyone at this forum that might say "Yes, my site was recently accepted by DMOZ". I mean recently

I think dmoz is over filled

there are news that DMOZ isnt alive these days and even if it is alive, they arent that linient in sites

Some of the site take 6 months before DMOZ approved there site and sometimes a year. I rather submit to a quality directories with the same PR like DMOZ and don't rely on it.
