Backlink Update

I've noticed the number of backlinks I have in Google has increased. Does anyone know when the last backlink update occured? I wasn't paying attention and missed it.
Backlink updates usually precede a PR update.

i can see the the number of backlinks changed. the update might have happened.
i noticed as well some of my subpages got pr update - is it strange as it is supposed to be by the end of april.

The backlink update doesn't normally affect SERPs, as it just means that Google is showing a share of the backlinks that it already had accounted previously for a specific site

The backlinks are updated when the google reindexes the pages that are having you links. For example you may posted your links on 10 sites but google have cache that holds the pages before your link was there. So, when google will re-visit those website then it will find your links. Then depending on the links quality, your website's page rank is changed.

i think its not like tat all back links are updated on specific day, its about ur site

Yes, all links cannot be updated in the same single day. Simple is that, when a page containing your site's link is re-visited by the Google, it will check your site's backlink and will automatically add it as your backlink's collection. As different sites are re-visited by google after different time periods, so the backlinks are updated accordingly.

Its almost end of 2nd week of april and it seems to me pr update has not started yet. Anyone noticed any change

Mine too.. my blog is only two months old but the PR jumped from NA to PR2.. Very nice!...

Yeah google updates is not much predictable, we will just only noticed the changes that happen usually quarterly. In a way or another, doing SEO must not stop, even we achieved the top rank for this update. Remember google algorithm changes consistently and we have to observe that.

Good news t me.... google might did their updates.. My blog's PR raised from 2 to 3.. great great news!
