Its known as 3 way linking.
Like A links to B
and B links to C
Its a good way of getting only inbound links but it may be taking risk on any one site as it will have a free outbound link which may effect its credibility.
Best way i still feel is reciprocal linking but with better approach not with SPAM methods as its waste of time and labour.

I've read and heard that Google can detect 3 way links and if it notices a pattern, your links won't be worth as much.

Oh well, I still prefer to have a one way link or reciprocal than 3way link.. But nice to see the growth of your traffic from 64 to 2000plus for 5 months right?

Though reciprocal links are devalued by SEs, they are a good source of traffic..

Well, sometimes, the three way links might be better than the reciprocal ones but you know, Google already knows of the tactics and so that is why he PR values of most of the links pages have dropped considerably recently.

Yes Social websites is very useful for increase traffic on our website. You have to submit your website in social networking sites. And the three way linking is useful.
