I was just wondering that Google might have designed the page rank system based on the premise that higher the links a site has from other sites, higher would be the traffic to that site. However, I see so many sites that are having a very high page rank (since they might be having links from so many other sites) but do not have a very good volume of traffic. Also doesn't this system undermine the importance of good and relevant content on your site? Again I have seen so many sites which do not have a very good content and also might be having wrong grammar in their content, but still those are ranked by google. Please share your thoughts on this.

SERP ranking is not directly related to PageRank... even a PR0 site can outrank a PR5 site on serp. Always serve a good contents and information for users.

On case you have wrong grammar or somewhat weird content or something but still you are getting good traffic, maybe because of uniqueness, or that you've presented the contents in different manner among others, which Google loves.

Don't get confused about PR (PageRank). The most important of all is the volume of traffic and rankings of your keywords. PR is basically an indication on how many quality links you have and not for basis of getting a good traffic.

Agreed. If you have PR, but your pages lack optimized tags, you won't do as well. Case in point, a site with a PR 4 that a client brought to us did not rank for keywords that the client wanted. Well, the title tag had only the company name in it and there were no H1 tags used either.

Shortly after implementing keywords in the title tag and creating keyword relevant H1 tags (among other things), the site ranked for a number of targeted keywords.

Promoting your site to a related forum and site will eventually increase your PR.

No. you can have a pr1 in first position over a pr8. Its all about the SEO!!!!!!!!!!!!

SERP's is not relevent PR, PR is based on quality back links.

for me quality traffics is more important than PR, And it doesn't matter if your content has a wrong grammar what matters is the uniqueness and the quality of article being posted.
