hmm strange when i type in link:www.google example i get 2500000 backlinks from google it sounds very not much dosent it?. When i type links:www.google.com i get 420 millions pages linked back to google and that sounds familiar. When i type in my page link link:www. i get nothing, but when i type in links:www. i get 2 millions pages showing up in google search. and when i type in my domain name www.domain.com in search i get 10 millions dose this means those pages are linking back to me or what s going on here?

I think you are referring to the search result you are seeing...it means that google shows the relevant results on the query..Their are www.domain.com relevant on their index.

They are not linking to you, they are results of sites indexed by google that is related to your query, meaning you are just like searching something with regards to google and not asking about your site alone.

when i also type link:www.domain name.com i get nothing but why do all my sites and backlinks show up when i type links:www.domain mame? also why do google have only 2 millions pages pointed back to them? when typeing link:ww.google.com. in their search engine, when i check their linkpopilarity they got 440 millions pages pointed back to them and also when i type links:www.google.com instead of link:google that shows me 2 million pages. After what i see here when typeing links:www.domain it shows the backlinks from your pages. I typed links:www.domainname and my backlinks showed up in there.

there are difference between all those requests, they are all different

If you want to check what Google display as backlinks to your site, then go with link:www.your domain and that is not a whole list of backlinks you have. The other one links:www.your domain show a list of of sites that mention your doman (or similar domain name) within those sites content. IMO

If you the result shows nothing it means that you don't have any backlink from G. Try to check your Google webmaster tool to the the real count of your backlinks.

www aren't google's query and you must understand that all of the things that you do are very different from each other, try other tools to view the exact backlinks of your website, I'll try to search on for you..

In order to check all your backlinks you can use your Google Webmaster Tool

There's no way you can check the backlinks on google using links:www.yoursite.

Use link:www.yoursite instead.

Wow. Thaw was something really strange! I hope I won't get to experience that...
