1 relevant link to ur site is more precious than 100 others

hi,
Having plenty of links to my site, Google has not ranked my site.
i have put query to Google and they have replied telling that
"Even 1 relevant link to ur site is more precious than 100 junk links for site rank calcuation"
so while building links, relevancy is much more important. Building junk links may bring down ur search engine list position too...
Am i correct?

yes..... because, even though you have a thousand of un-relevant backlinks.....and only 1 or 2 are relevant..... SE will always go for the relevant backlinks

although true that 1 relevant back link (from high pr site) is significantly more important than 100 "irrelevant" links... it is often 1000 times easier to get the 100 easy links.

You can have up to 1000's irrelevant links and still won't get credit for them. Relevancy is what page rank is all about at google.
Of course those 100 links are good if you're not in a very competing niche.

Does this mean that 100 non-relevant backlinks might equal one relevant link?

what if you tried to make it relevant? By the way, how would they measure the relevance of a site linking to your website? Is it the density of the keywords or the presence of it that is the same or relevant to the words on your pages? Can anyone clear this up?

I agree with you junk link make down your site from Google......... And yes 1 relevant link is more precious than 100 junk site.... but also do High quality of one way directory submission........it help to your site

I don't think that that can even be compared. If I have a health site, that is all over every site that sells sneakers, and I have 1 link from webmd or something, I will prefer the 1 high quality relevant any day of the week over 1000 unrelated. Aside from rankings, this gives you a great chance to actually get some click throughs.

Yeah right ... 100 links from un-relevant site and just one link from relevant site

quality link which we called in search engines optimization weighted backlink which is very very important in pushing your site to the top search engines

But its so hard to find a relative link for something that is at the corner stone of SPAM - Online Pharamacy ( a word i cannot spell right because its on this forums SPAM WORDS list
)
90% of them are SCAMS or ILLEGAL.. how does a legit one make its way in the world with that kinda of publicity

I've always beleived that there was nothing your competition could do to bring down your site - therefore - as there is nothing stopping a competitor building 1000s of junk links to your site - I thought that Google would simply ingore these links or give you only a small amount of credit) rather than penalising you. Of course, the links you have going out from your site are a different matter ...
Also, some junk links make your link building process look "natural".
this is how I feel it wouldn't make sense for them to penalize you for who's linking to you, you get penalized for who you link to not the other way around.

OK, do you have some guide as to how to build relevant links?
For instance, if I place here a link to a sneakers online shop -
https://sneakerstudio.com/ - there it is - I doubt it's gonna be relevantm right?

Google have changed from quantity to quality for long.
So, quality contents and quality backlinks are the secrets of higher ranking
