Hi,

In my website, I have got two sections on fathers day
http://www.dgreetings.com/fatherday/
and
http://www.dgreetings.com/fathers-day/index.html

I have started working on these sections generating inbound links to these pages and updating the content and the meta tags. But I found that there is decrease in their google positioning.

Please advice how to improve the positioning in a very short duration of time.

Since when you building links for them? Mostly it takes time to effect to the pages, some it takes few days, some few weeks or months.

You should get backlinks from big, well-indexed sites with high Pagerank.

yea it takes time to get an effect into rankings, the more the backlinks get stronger, the more effect it will show.

On-page optimization plays a big role in rankings too. If ur On-page is not well targeted to the keywords ur targeting then it may not show serp's in search engines

Short duration of time!? It's hard to get a stable ranking due to competition. You just need to keep on building quality links for your site. Do forum posting, article submission, link exchange, etc.

Right now, which of these methods has more weight on google. Forum posting, blog commenting, social bookmarking? Does directory submission could give points to your site? Thanks!

For getting sudden effect I recommend you to digg or mixx your web page. The google spiders are always waiting there and will definitely come to your web page and index it well.

^ the term is exchange link. it is very effective but be sure to provide them your site's important details.

I am facing the same problem. But hope to come back the positons again at the same place. May be google is fluctuating some keywords for improving them. Consistency in the work can be the only soultion.

In links building, you should target more from relevant sites.

Do a more link building work and update your website content.

Google ranking fluctuation is common. You just need to keep on building quality links for your site to get a very stable ranking. Hardwork is important in a successful SEO campaign.

Try to get as much inbound links for your website but make sure that yo do not get too many in short duration. Still the things will take time to get updated. Check your PR for the next time and see the results.
