Yes google keep itself updated and gives all webmasters a message that google love these type of changes and updates therefore apply them in your site too... google will surely reward you one day....

yeah, Yahoo thus update their logos for such special occasions, maybe Google do the same way too.

Yes, I noticed the updated Google logo today—it feels like a subtle but modern refresh.
