Google Earth is a virtual globe, map and geographic information program that was originally called Earth Viewer, and was created by Keyhole, Inc, a company acquired by Google in 2004. It maps the Earth by the superimposition of images obtained from satellite imagery, aerial photography and GIS 3D globe. It is available under three different licenses: Google Earth, a free version with limited functionality; Google Earth Plus (discontinued), which included additional features; and Google Earth Pro ($400 per year), which is intended for commercial use.

Does anyone have an idea when Google will be updating their pictures in the free version. And how does Google Earth Pro benefit companies?

Google earth aint nothing to google streets. Google had a van that drove just about every street in america and took pictures.
Google earth is very cool though. I like to use it to plan hiking trips becuase is has a measuring tool on it.

The technology of Google Earth is a bit scary. It could be used to invade people's privacy and to do unnecessary surveillance. Or maybe, I just sound paranoid, lol!

I have had a lot of fun playing with google earth in the past. It is nice to see friends houses and property in that perspective.
