Google changes its algorithm from time to time. It's not surprising at all. Surveys, however, can never be accurate.

I see that's a good speculation, the focus on real time / social things is very trendy today which where people mostly go to. Modern media advertising that are interactive and very eye-catchy might excel among SEO methods.

Google algo is not known to anyone and keeps changing time to time.
However, the basic remains same quality content and quality link building..
