Does PR flow through a web site?

If you are linked to a website that has a homepage PR of say, 5 but you are on the links page of that site which has a PR of only 2 do you get the 5 weighting for your PR 'score' or the 2?? I'm hoping the answer will be 5, otherwise many links pages may not be as good as they seem...!! It would be OK of the 5 weighting 'flowed through' to the links page...

Thats awful

This is awful as it means that obtaining a presence on any links page would probably have a low PR... it means that chasing all those reciprocal links is pretty useless since they're all deep in a website and unless you're actually on a homepage then your PR weightings will always be low.. Am I right about this??

I also thought that being on forums would help but the page has a 0/10 ranking so what's the point??

Can you give ANY tips on how to up the PR...??

PETER

thanks

Thanks Akash,

I will carry on as I have been doing but it may be that my position in some of the real estate directories and other links (see: www.enablinguk.com/links.html) may not be as good as I hoped...

My understanding is that whatever number of links I get these are all likely to be lower PRs and thus there is real solid barrier to getting to PR5 and more.. do you agree?

PETER

Akash, Yes, I will keep on working at it!!

Your web site looks very interesting... I will look at it and may come back to you..

What we have tried to do is to make two very closely linked websites (see links below) with the idea that a small network of sites would achieve a greater presence then a single enitty... its a concept that maybe could be promoted at a business level...

You will see that development-seekers is an integrated part of enablinguk... do you feel this integration makes a difference?? Both sites have done quite well on PR but I have only more recently got going with links and forums..

Regards,

PETER
