Does google rank you by keyword. How do become listed higher as opposed to lower on the totem pole so to speak ? I';m looking to rank my web as high as possible and hope to get some tips here.

Yes! Google rank me in my targeted keyword as long as you follow the right way of improving your rankings. And that happened in my previous websites. All you need to do is keep on building quality link in your targeted keywords.

you have to do make links on other sites google basically considers higher when the specific site has more than many back links.
Other side you have to submit your site in directories.

You have to choose the right keywords that comply with the content of your site and its purpose as Google considers it in ranking first of all.

If you target keywords are not that competitive, it's easier for you to rank high in Google. Having said that, your SEO efforts (linkbuilding) should be based on how competitive your keywords are.

I think the quality backlinks come from the bookmarker submission and article marketing, also you can get the backlinks on the forums post
