It is said that pagerank doesn't affect SERP. I think it is true because I have a PR2 site ranks very well at google. So why we care PR?

Most people care bout page rank due to link exchanging. Its easier to get more links with a higher PR.

Your site must be optimised very well or have quite low competative keywords to rank high on everything in google.
