I have a "Link to Us" page on my website, with an html code of my banner, encouraging people to give me one way links. If I offer anyone a 10% discount on my products for certain organizations that link to my site, (using my banner) as "link bait", will Google allow this? I don't want to do anything that will harm my Google optimization or page rank, please let me know if this is allowed. Thanks so much

Google will allow you to run your business as you want...what they don't want is for you to use unfair practices to get higher listings in there search results...I don't think what you're doing would qualify as unfair practices.

Agree with you guys. If you do fair business I don't thing search engines really care about it. As far as I know their biggest concern is to stop cheating their algorythm and they don't like when someone use tricks within website's code. They also don't like a lot of other stuff like link farms, spam and so on.

But all what we could say here is a guess based on experience, because no one knows search engines algorythm (beside SE developers)

It sounds like a good idea to reward customers who link back to your site, I can't see this being a problem with Google.

There is nothing wrong with this, don't worry.It is actually a very good "link bait".

Go ahead and do it. You don't have to worry about Google or your site optimization effort by doing it. This will help you to improve your page rank as well as your business.

Dealing with SEO friendly sites it's a good idea, but it's always very time consuming to do research and see which site is friendly and which one is not. The snapshot is not always guarantee how friendly is the site.

Its normal, most websites has link to us pages and thy get nice PR

Yes you can do this and i think it is a good idea to get links.
