reciprocal links can be bad if they are with sites that have questionable reputations, like sites that try to trick SEs or those that have bans. If you get listed with some of the smaller search engines, it will help to get listed faster with google. good luck

it depends on your link partners.....in link exchange there are sites that are searching for high quality link partners because, they want it to rank high or they want to get benefits from their link partners
ow can I do this as wuickly as possible
you should start again promoting and link building your site.... that's the best way.... also do not use reciprocal links.... build some one way links for your site

Try to make backlinks from ur related business sites having good PR.Offer them reciprocal link exchange.
If u have a back link from ur related business,this means that u have a vote from others in ur business area.
Make ur sitemap available to ur site as well as submit it to google Webmaster.
Make ur content unique.
Do some good SEO tactics.

leftybogs, a perfect answer you gave here. Reciprocal is not that bad for getting crawled your site as well directories play a vital role ; there are some free directories but the fact is they take some time.

You can get high ranking one way backlinks by joining LinkedIn and Facebook and putting your site in your profile. Those backlinks are worth 1000s of two-way links from lower ranked sites. Its a whole lot less work too.

Reciprocal link is not always bad. Having site related reciprocal like with high PR is a plus point to help your site to get google crawled.

Reciprocal links won't hurt your ranking if the links relevant to your site's topic.

1. Exchange links isn't bad at all. Just make sure you only exchange links with relevant sites.
2. Add new and quality content to your site often. Robots love new contents.
3. Ping your site. It'll help your site get crawled.
