Can someone explain what is happening with my site indexing?

Hello All,

About 30-45 days ago I made some changes to my website to enhance it's SEO.

MSN picked up on the changes instantly.

Yahoo is slowly picking up on the changes, but is doing so faster than Google.


I did not add or delete any pages. I simply changed text. I also changed the titles to the pages.

The pages titled "an investment that grows" are the pages before the changes were implemented. (see 1st link below)

Google still has the pages indexed with the old text, and I know it takes a while for them to drop off.

And Google is slowly indexing the pages with the recent changes.

Here are my questions:

1) Why sometimes does it say:

"Results 1 - 8 of about 3 from outdoorfinishes.com. (0.31 seconds)" ?

is that an error when it says "3"?


2) Last week Google showed this html as being indexed, and because it was indexed, we were ranking high in the local search results. But now...it appears this html is no longer indexed! What happened to it over the last 3 - 4 days?

Why did Google have this same html indexed last week for the 1st time since our changes were made, but now it's no longer showing as being indexed?

I hope I phrased my questions so all can understand. Please let me know if I need to clarify.

Yes, I know.

But that is the old version of that page

Last week Google DID in fact have the NEW version indexed!

And now it's NOT indexed anymore

Remember that Google has many datacenters...and not all of them update at the same rate. Every time you go to Google and type in a keyword, you are sent to a random datacenter which has an index of web pages...if the current page of a site has not been updated in that datacenter, it will show the old page in the cache.

I have a weird situation where most datacenters have my home page as a page rank of 3, but there are a few datacenters that still show the old page rank of 2...be patient...the spiders will eventually crawl and all datacenters will have updated information.

Also, there was a time that Google was showing versions of pages that I had modified 6 months earlier...but it finally caught up and now updates pages more regularly.
