Hi,

Recently setup a blog with a subdomain, for a domain thats been around awhile. Do I need to submit it in Google Webmaster tools, and the sitemap, etc?

It would be better if you do that but it didn't require to do that...

Well it worth to update your site's physical sitemap and the most updated xml sitemap in GWT, for the latest site structure and links of your site. And direct backlink going to your new subdomain really helps indexing it..

Even though Google will crawl it eventually, you can still submit it to GWT for better site management.

Submit it for better penetration and to expose those hidden pages in your blog.
