Also i wanted to ask about a offer i received yesterday by one of my link partners. He mentioned something about a link exchange site rank1.info ?has anyone heard of it, is it good, and will it help me in some way? I'm new to these things and i hope I'll get your advice.

All the social networking sites are a pretty good place to start. Twitter, Facebook, Myspace etc etc.

Do some research into were you would find people that are interested in your site and do some advertising there.

Google adwords are also good, but this will cost you some cash.

Submit your site on different directory sites, Do social bookmarking of each and every page of your site. You also have to do forum posting and blog commenting. You can also promote your site through different social networking sites.

I think you should choose right keyword for your site. Then do the some off page activities like Forum posting, Article Submission, Social bookmarking, Directory Submission, Press Release, Classified, Social Networking. If you need instant traffic then do the social Networking or you can try Forum posting and article submission.

But remember always generate quality backlinks.

It's not a good idea to join link exchange sites.

Create article and submit it and if you have money then advertisement is best.
