Hi,

many sites that have high PR values are not interested in trading links with my site which is zero in PR. I am wondering how I can increase PR without having too many backlinks from high PR sites?

Do good contents help? anything else?

For getting high pr you need quality back links. It means you want link which comes from high pr sites with relevant categories. I know it is not easy. But labor works. It will take time to get pr.

Needs a lot of effort such as link building, bookmarking, blog posting etc...

Actually if you got only few but strong backlinks from relevant sites could easily give you nice PR. And remember PR is all about the importance of your page, so work on your contents too.

With unique content, and few backlinks from sites with high PR (5-9) which having a small number (10-15) of the outbound links you can raise your sites PR...

How long does it usually take?

Try to link with good content sites and try to get dofollow links which are related to your niche. I'm sure it would be definitely helpful to grow PR.
