If all the content of a site is duplicated. The newest one may be banned. If there are only few duplicated pages, more of the time these pages will not be indexed by google.

From my experience, you will lose your ranking. In order to counter this change your content, or spin your pages content. duplicate content on the same site is nearly always impossible to not to do if you are an ecommerce site. I find this has no negative effect, as long as you have the product details within the content

Google just taking some sort of level of ignoring them or still ranking, it depends on the quality of the content, the time Google indexed it, and how much authority those site have...

Google has clearly stated that there is no penalty for duplicate content. Many online viral content is repeated many times in different places. Google does not prohibit or punish those sites. It is the nature of the Internet to share and duplicate information.

It might ban you but many times it doesn't give any relevance to your SEO activities.
