I just started this past month (about 25 days) with a website I designed for my company http://www.proimagesphoto.com and have noticed a bounce rate of 63% but overall a bounce rate of about 51% should I be concerned? What is a good average bounce rate to have and any suggestions to make go down?

Der projoseph,

Average Bounce rate should be 30% to 35% and if you want to decrease your bounce rate then you should promote your website at relevance places or sources which will create relevance traffic for your website and ultimate it will decrease your website bounce rate too.

If you look at conversion rates for landing pages and implement the advice you should reduce the bounce rate. The advice above is also very useful. Get traffic from relevant places. If your traffic is relevant look at changing your site design.

Bounce Rate determines the effectiveness of the particular site. You can reduce the bounce rates of your site by creating unique and high-quality and then promote your website in related niches.

This means more than half of people who visit your site immediately leaves and probably not interested on your site, make it more attractive and useful.

63% bounce rate is really big concern. Check your site content. Study Google analytic reports to understand where your visitors left your site and make changes accordingly.

Probably most people that visits your site are not so interested with what you offer, find ways to advertise on group of people you think are interested...

That is very high you should try and lower this number. I believe Google looks at bounce rate as a factor of how relevant your website content is to the keywords that people are clicking on to enter your website.

Try and provide helpful content and content that makes people click deeper into your website, Google then thinks your website is helpful to the user.

Bounce rate is in the Algo for sure now. If you click on a listing in the organic search and go to another you don't think Google knows that?
