Google Search Algorithm Update

Yesterday Google roll out a new update to its algorithm. After Caffeine last year, this is another significant update from Google. According to Amit Singhal (who provide this crucial information on Google blog) this update is going to affect as much as 35 % of total search results.

As per this new update in Google algorithm, now Google is going to provide more up-to-date and relevant results for certain types of search queries. The type of content that is going to be affected through this update includes:

1. Recent Events / topice
2. Recurring Events
3. Frequent updates

This update is said to be "designed to better understand how to differentiate between these kinds of searches and the level of freshness you need"
So I hope it is not going to affect the regular searches.

It's good to mee now we will get more relevant items when you search, also smaller sites have a higher chance to get a better ranking.

Google has named its latest web spam algorithmic update Penguin. For those who believe their search rankings have been wrongly hit by this update, or if you’re seeing spam Google missed, Matt Cutts has announced the arrival of a feedback form.

“If you want to report spam that Google is missing, fill out a spam report and add the word penguin,” Cutts, Google’s Distinguished Engineer who leads the web spam team, tweeted yesterday. “If you know a site affected by algo update that you don't think should be affected, we made a form to provide feedback.”
