Google Desktop can also index many different types of data, like email, Internet Explorer and Mozila Firefox, office document in the OpenDocument and Microsoft Office format, instant messenger from AOL, Google, MSN and several multimedia file types.

It also makes an addition of files to your index while moving and opening the files.
