Your best bet is to start with on-page SEO, doing such things as creating meta tags etc. If you have a wordpress based website, I'd recommend the plugin "All in one SEO" - that works great for me.

Then start link building for your website, if you are unsure on how to do this then google is your friend for this. You can always outsource your link building to get maximum results.
