Actually, On-page optimization involves modifying keyword frequency in the URL, Title, Headings, Hypertext Links and Body text. It may also involve reducing redundant HTML codes produced by Web page authoring tools and restructuring the site to produce better linked and focused page content.

On page optimization improve silo of the website. There are lots of factors of on page optimization such as content, meta tags, h1 and h2 tags.

On page SEO starts with your domain name, keywords in a domain name have positive effect on your SEO. If you re trying to build brand, it can be long-term negative.

Choose the keyword(s) for the page.

The URL is stop number 2. Having a directory structure and page page descriptions with keywords is a positive. Don't overdue it, though.

Meta-page title. A big SEO positive. Make it descriptive with keyword(s).

<h1>Your actual page title with keyword(s). There should only be 1 <h1> on your page, unless it is a multi-topic and long page, in which case, maybe you should consider splitting it up. Use <h2> and <h3> for sections.

Make sure the first couple of sentences have your keyword(s).

Repeat keyword(s) sporadically in a natural reading pattern. Overdoing it is negative SEO. Try to use keyword(s) in links, and link to things that talk about the keyword(s).

Repeat keyword(s) in the last couple of sentences.

Supplemental information on the page should have keywords.

Don't overdue ads, or place ads in in distracting places unless you can change them without a lot of headache. Google is/will be increasing targeting of annoying ads.

Makes the whole conversation look like spam. It is very nice that the owner's of this site allow do follow links, don't be a spammer and make them change their minds.

Onpage optimization includes the following:
Meta keyword, Description, title.
HTML code, etc

working with the on site like
content updation ( rich, fresh and unique)
meta description (nothing but to display with page title in SERP)
meta title, keywords etc are not important
page title ( best place for targeted keywords)
H tags ( should be in proper order like H1 H2 H3 H4 etc)
image optimization ( minimal size)
ALT tags ( for links and image)
links optimization ( no broken and un necessary flags and some SE not reading ?SPAM properly)
keyword distribution ( place naturally, do not spam for increase density)

On page optimization includes meta details, content optimization, alt tag, h tag, sitemap, robots.txt etc.
