do you know - is it worth to pay for local citation? Generally, they charge around 50 $ but I am not sure if it brings any value. I am looking to promote a local Australian business and I want to find a best, reasonable way to do it - but without any shady techniques.

If your budget allows you to pay 50 $ than I must say to you that pay for local citations. Local citations are the most important strategy for your business visibility in local search and map.
