They don't easily approve sites they have their own criteria.

Re:
Same here. But some categories do not have editors. If you submit to such category then you will have to wait for a long time.cigarwise wrote:Those guys are very slow, I even tried to become an editor but haven't heard anything yet.
I've got a site that's been submitted for almost a year now and still nothing.

I think the criteria applied by the webmaster to approve the link was very much hard. and we fail to fulfill those criteria that's why my site is also not listed in the DMOZ.

It's best to search Google for any listings that already have an editor. If there's no editor it can be impossible to get listed. Alternatively you can apply to become an editor which gives even greater power.

You need to submit your site properly if not the editors at DMOZ will not like it and reject your site.

Re: How do you get in DMOZ?
I got into DMOZ in 2007. I was listed there for 2 years before suddenly being removed for no reason.
Its definitely still worth submitting your link though, just follow all the guidelines when you apply, and make sure your site looks really professional.

Re: How do you get in DMOZ?
I have read in various threads about people emailing the editor of the dmoz category they are trying to get listed in... The category I am interested in is http://www.dmoz.org/Recreation/Travel/L ... rectories/ and like many others I have lost count of how long I have been waiting. If anyone knows how to get in touch with editors that would be good!
