Every month I get a list of links from my SEO company to post on my site. Some I need to have reciprocal links for. My question is, how do I know these links/sites are any good?

Thanks.

Check the page rank of all websites from where you are getting back links. Dont go for reciprocal links. Count how many unique links you have rather than having 10 links from one site. You have to get quality backlinks to get good rankings.

any related sites can be good for you even if their site has no PR... just check their sites if it's banned.. it is bad for your site getting links for banned sites...

Good SEO company should always provide the Page rank of the sites they submit you web site to! This is important. And the page where the link to your web site is placed.

I also agree that firstly you need to have a certain number of one way links - free directory backlinks. You can get them if your site is submitted as a regular non reciprocal link for free. Free directories of High PR should be considered as a good option when you start or continue gaining backlinks.

Have you read good reviews about that company? Reciprocal links should be relevant, quality and come from good neighborhood.

Many have said here that if you see page rank links then you can be satisfied knowing that you have got good links. I politely disagree with this. Open those links and see if those are relevant to your business, if they are not then they would have very less impact on your rankings. You should ask them to provide industry specific links.

Look at the pr of the sites and better check your Google webmaster tools account as you can get the list of all the links you are getting as Google do not show the links it only shows the selected one...
