Avoid unrelevant sites for quality purposes. You may have a better chance to rank higher on PR as well as keyword rankings. Even forums are do follow or not as long as you are posting/sharing good information, it can attract traffic to your site.

Always check the history of the directory.. If the directory has gone through numbers of spamming attempts,, then do not attempt either to submit in that directory...

Many forums have dofollow links in the signature but not in the posts (like WarriorForum) so the signature link is useful for backlinks. I wouldn't focus on forums as part of your linking strategy so much as the way to brand yourself as an expert by participating in forums related to your niche. You'll pull in traffic through your signature this way and also people will start to notice you as the go-to person for information about your niche.

Yes most of forums are dofollow, these signatures are useful.

Nope they are turning no-follow one by one its because of spamm.

your links should all be relevant to your niche. . .

all dofallow forums is OK, but the best are related dofallow forums
