Serious security flaw found in IE

Users of Microsoft's Internet Explorer are being urged by experts to switch to a rival until a serious security flaw has been fixed.

Worrying as that is, you have to give Microsoft credit for resisting the temptation to keep the information to themselves and crossing their fingers that they'd resolve it quickly.
Apparently they've done so. There's been a security patch released now to counter this:

Interesting. That security flaw has existed for some time now, but Microsoft just now got around to releasing a fix for it shortly after the story made the national media. You'd think they'd move faster on something so serious. If Mozilla plays their cards right they could certainly stand to gain some marketshare.
