Does any one else think it would be a good idea if they did a google places widget for reviews like the free index do? i wouldnt want to use the free index are ranking competition for me so i dont wana link to them.

There are chances in numbers (as long as they are not against Google guideline) so it would hurt if you try, who knows it might be helpful..

would it be an interactive widget or just a display only widget?

sounds Good.
You might churn a widget if you want. But I suppose the links form the widgets wont count if they are js generated. If they are little html widgets then that could help.

What is the exact function of these widgets?
